PSG v Barcelona: Betting Tips & Odds
Champions League, Matchday 3 | Parc des Princes, Paris | Tuesday 20 October 2026, 20:00 BST
First hosts second. PSG top the league phase after winning 4-2 at Manchester City, Barcelona are second after ten straight wins in all competitions, and both teams have scored in each of the last five meetings. Our main tip is both teams to score at 2/9, our value tip is Over 3.5 goals at 8/13, and we are going for 3-1.
Our Tips
| Tip | Market | Odds | Bookmaker |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main Tip | Both teams to score | 2/9 | bet365 |
| Value Tip | Over 3.5 goals | 8/13 | BetMGM |
| Correct Score | PSG 3-1 Barcelona | 15/1 | BoyleSports |
| First Half | Over 1.5 first-half goals | 4/5 | BoyleSports |
| Longer Shot | PSG to win by two or more goals | 10/3 | BoyleSports |
Odds are from the bookmakers named in the table and were correct at time of writing. The 1X2 table and value calculator use BetMGM’s prices. Always check current odds before placing a bet.
First v Second in Paris
The holders scored three times before half-time at the Etihad. Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé and Vitinha put PSG 3-0 up, Maghnes Akliouche made it 4-1, and Erling Haaland’s second-half double was not enough for Manchester City. It was PSG’s first ever win at the ground. Barcelona fell behind in Istanbul but turned it round to beat Galatasaray 4-1, and have now won all ten of their games this season. Both sides have six points and a goal difference of +7, with PSG top only on goals scored. Matchday 2 produced 78 goals in 18 games, a record for a single Champions League matchday.
1X2 and Main Markets
| Market | Odds |
|---|---|
| PSG | 11/8 |
| Draw | 3/1 |
| Barcelona | 29/20 |
| Over 3.5 goals | 8/13 |
| Under 3.5 goals | 23/20 |
| Both teams to score: Yes | 2/9 |
| Both teams to score: No | 13/5 |
Odds at BetMGM. PSG are the narrowest of favourites at 11/8, with Barcelona at 29/20 and the draw at 3/1. The goal markets expect an open game: Over 3.5 goals is odds-on at 8/13 and both teams to score is 2/9.
Value Calculator
| Outcome | Odds | Impl. | Ours | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PSG | 11/8 | 42.1% | 42% | -0.1% |
| Draw | 3/1 | 25.0% | 21% | -4.0% |
| Barcelona | 29/20 | 40.8% | 37% | -3.8% |
| Over 3.5 goals | 8/13 | 61.9% | 64% | +2.1% |
| Both teams to score | 2/9 | 81.8% | 82% | +0.2% |
Impl. = the bookmaker’s implied probability. Ours = our estimate.
Market probability: PSG 39% | Draw 23% | Barcelona 38% (calculated from the 1X2 odds above, with the bookmaker’s margin removed).

The margin removal is pure arithmetic on the three prices; “our estimate” on top of it is an editorial judgement based on current form and statistics, not a proprietary model. We have PSG at 42 per cent to win, almost exactly what 11/8 implies, so the value is in the goals rather than the result. We rate Over 3.5 goals at 64 per cent against the 61.9 per cent implied by 8/13: the last five meetings produced 20 goals, and both teams arrive in scoring form. Our main tip, both teams to score, we put at 82 per cent against 81.8 per cent implied.
Our Tips in Detail
Main Tip: Both teams to score @ 2/9
- Both teams have scored in each of the last five meetings
- PSG have scored 16 goals in their last five games and Barcelona 21
- Both sides have conceded in four of their last five games
- PSG conceded twice at the Etihad despite leading 3-0 at half-time
The strongest argument against is the price: at 2/9 the tip has to land more than four times in five just to break even, and Barcelona kept a clean sheet against Getafe last Saturday.
⭐ Confidence Level: High (4/5)
Value Tip: Over 3.5 goals @ 8/13
The bet wins if the match produces four goals or more.
- Over 3.5 goals landed in three of the last five meetings, which produced 20 goals in total
- Barcelona’s games have gone over 3.5 goals in four of their last five, PSG’s in three
- PSG have scored 16 goals in their last five games and Barcelona 21
- Matchday 2 produced a record 78 goals in 18 games, 4.33 per game
The strongest argument against is that big nights can tighten up: the 2021 meeting in Paris finished 1-1, and Barcelona kept a clean sheet against Getafe last Saturday. At 8/13 the bet also needs to land more than six times in ten to pay its way.
⭐ Confidence Level: Medium (3/5)
Our Prediction
Correct score prediction: PSG 3-1 Barcelona. A scenario in line with both the main tip and the value tip: goals at both ends, four in total, and a two-goal win for the hosts.
⭐ Confidence Level: Low (2/5)
Bet Builder
| Selection | Market |
|---|---|
| 1 | PSG to win (Match result) |
| 2 | Both teams to score: Yes |
| Combined odds | 11/5 |
⭐ Confidence Level Bet Builder: Low (2/5)
The combination follows the same scenario as our prediction: PSG win and Barcelona score. At Casumo it pays 11/5, a little more than the two legs multiplied together (11/8 × 2/9, roughly 19/10), because a home win and an away goal partly pull in different directions.
First Half: Over 1.5 first-half goals @ 4/5
PSG scored three times before the break at the Etihad, and Barcelona went behind in Istanbul before turning it round to win 4-1. Two sides who press high and play quickly rarely take long to feel each other out, and at least two goals before half-time is 4/5.
⭐ Confidence Level: Medium (3/5)
Longer Shot: PSG to win by two or more goals @ 10/3
If PSG’s press works as it did at the Etihad, where they led 3-0 at half-time, the hosts can win by two goals or more, as in our 3-1 prediction. The bet is PSG -1 on the three-way handicap, which means PSG winning by at least two goals. It is a long price, so keep the stake small.
⭐ Confidence Level: Low (1/5)

The Numbers Behind the Tips
| Champions League, 2 games | PSG | Barcelona |
|---|---|---|
| Goals | 10 | 9 |
| xG | 6.43 | 4.63 |
| Conceded | 3 | 2 |
| xG against | 3.37 | 1.03 |
| xG difference | +3.06 | +3.60 |
The figures are totals from the first two Champions League matchdays. Both sides have scored far more than their chances suggest: PSG ten goals from 6.43 xG and Barcelona nine from 4.63. Barcelona have the better xG difference (+3.60 to +3.06) because they have allowed only 1.03 xG, while PSG have conceded chances worth 3.37 xG, most of them against Manchester City. The numbers point to goals, which supports our value tip, but also to finishing that may cool off.
